For WellsFargo com mynewcard reservation number and in 2007, it is the only company in the United States by standard poor's rated AAA bank, in spite of the fact that the financial crisis of 2007-08.
We're going to talk about how to get $200 for free by opening up a Wells Fargo checking account. But first, if you are new here we're all about how to maximize the value for credit cards, so how to get the most cash back and also how to travel for free. Let's get started.
The first thing I want to mention is that it is Wells Fargo, I'm expecting a bunch of jokes talking about how opening up, one account is going to equal ten or hundred accounts, and if you don't want to trust them just skip it. We have a lot of other credit card ones, but if you are someone who's willing to try them out again you can easily get $200 as a side note. This post is not sponsored by Wells Fargo and this is not my promo code, so I don't really benefit from it, but I'm just a big fan of free money for this offer.
All you need to do is to open up an everyday checking account online, so you can do this earlier, and you have to deposit $25 as the minimum starting points to fund the accounts. One thing to consider here though is you do need to set up a direct deposit, and you need to receive at least 3 consecutive monthly direct deposits of at least $500 within the first 150 days, after you do all of this your $200 should be deposited within 45 days of eligibility of meeting the qualifications. As a reminder, this offer is exclusively for online and it does not work for in branch or for phone opened accounts.
My whole thought process is you can try the accounts, and if you realize that you don't like it then feel free to close it afterward, so you have 200 more dollars and there's not really any cost other than your time, but the fact that it's online opening, it isn't really going to take that much time. You could probably open it is probably one to two minutes, if that the direct deposits can be a bit annoying depending on where you work and whether you need to submit new forms, so again something to consider there.
One thing Wells Fargo was pretty good with is giving you money when you hit the requirements, so typically you don't have to wait the whole amount of time, we've seen transactions being processed may be a few days after you hit the requirements. There is a 10 dollar monthly service fee for this accounts, but there's a bunch of ways to avoid it, and one of the ways that are very obvious and that relate to this, a bonus is that you can have a direct deposit of $500 or more.
Given the sign-up bonus requirements, you basically don't need to worry about the service fees which isn't too bad at all, looking at the rest of the terms you are only eligible for this bonus. If you currently do not have a Wells Fargo consumer checking account you are not a Wells Fargo team member, and you have not received a checking bonus in the last 12 months, so if you did sign up for that you might want to make sure that it's been at least 12 months since we got that bonus before signing up for this.
One another thing to consider is that this offer is only valid if you're in certain states, so here are a bunch of states that do not qualify for this offer, and my guess is because there's no Wells Fargo in that state. A few other interesting tidbits to consider for this deal is that Wells Fargo deals seem to end earlier than their stated day, so even though this is supposed to end on March 22nd of 2018, in the past they typically end up pulling it.
Once they meet their quota this means that if you do want to get this deal I would sign up sooner rather than later especially if you qualify for the santé bonus, for example, in the past, I believe they typically pull it about a month before hands. If you want to get it now at the end of the day this is marketing for them just to get more customers, especially given what's happened in the past, and for me, I don't really foresee similar stuff happening in the future just because they probably improved their department.
If anything they're probably the safest bank right now due to what happened in the past, if you do go through of this process and you realize that it's not really a fit, I don't really want this account, what I'd recommend doing too close to accounts is to go to the counter to withdraw all of your money, and then to either process the cancellation online or by phone, the main reason for this is when you sit down with them the process takes a really long time.
When I did this last year it took like 35 or 40 minutes, and they basically spent a lot of time trying to convince me to keep the account open. Again if you are sure that you want to cancel it afterward do it by phone, so I hope that was helpful.
