Wells Fargo's CSR work focuses on three priorities

In 2016, Wells Fargo donated $281.3 million to 14900 non-profit organizations, and its team members provided 1.73 million hours of volunteer service to 50000 non-profit organizations. Wells Fargo's CSR work focuses on three priorities: in underserved communities.

Wells Fargo has reached an agreement of $386 million to settle class-action lawsuits brought by customers who say they have been forced to buy unnecessary car insurance to solve one of their many legal problems.

The agreement, described in court documents filed Thursday, will settle a lawsuit filed in July 2017, when the new york times just released the results of an internal report commissioned by the bank on the matter. The report found that Wells Fargo had been buying some kind of auto insurance from the national general insurance company for many years and applying it to the accounts of auto loan customers without knowledge.

San Francisco, 2017 - Wells Fargo Bank Corporation (NYSE: WFC) today announced the launch of the Wells Fargo holiday food bank program to provide more food to the community during this holiday season. Wells Fargo worked with United Way worldwide to create a long-term, high impact program to support hunger-related causes in our local communities and donated an additional $5 million in grants to United Way to support this effort.

According to a recent study by Wells Fargo

According to a recent study by Wells Fargo, 83% of people are more likely to donate food this season if they can donate it where it is convenient for the local community. About 5900 retail bank branches and 268000 team members, the program encourages customers, communities and team members to provide nonperishable food in their branches, donate to joint ways, and volunteer with hunger-related organizations. The show starts on Tuesday and continues until the end of the year.

Fifty-five percent of Americans say they think donations during the holidays are more important than the rest of the year.

More than three-quarters of Americans (77%) throw away the nonperishable food they buy - food banks can use it and people can benefit from it.

A third of Americans (33%) said their charitable donations had no convenient delivery location.

"At Wells Fargo, we are committed to building better communities, first of all, by providing access to basic needs such as stable housing, table food, stable employment, education, and ultimately improving well-being and quality of life for millions of underserved people and families in our country," said Jon Campbell, head of corporate responsibility and community relations at Wells Fargo. "Thanks to our team members, customers and the solidarity around the world, we will be able to make a huge difference for many people in need this holiday season."

Working with United Way

The United Way global plan, which fights for the health, education and financial stability for everyone in each community, uses Wells Fargo's $5 million donations to improve the capacity of local United way, provide long-term, high impact programs, and support hunger-related causes during and after holidays.

Brian Gallagher, President, and CEO of Wells Fargo said: "This donation from Wells Fargo will support the local United ways to fight hunger in the community and provide important resources for families to live a healthier life." "Wells Fargo's strong relationship with United Way is a key part of our efforts to address the country's most critical challenges and create solutions to improve the quality of life for individuals and families."
